After graduating from college with a degree in psychology, I worked as an EMT with the local Rescue Squad, and as a Psych Aide at the University of North Carolina Medical Center. I had always been interested in health and helping others, and these experiences led me to pursue a nursing degree. After graduating, I moved to California and began working at Children's Hospital in Oakland as an RN. The work was challenging and rewarding. I found that one of the most meaningful parts of my job was helping people when they were facing a crisis. I have found this same satisfaction cooking for people with illnesses and dietary restrictions, and supporting them on their journey towards wellness.

I am the mother of three grown children, all of whom are great cooks. Now that they are launched, I feel fortunate to have the time and energy to pursue my passion and help others.

When I'm not in the kitchen I enjoy hiking, yoga, and spending time with family and friends..
